To all of you type enthusiasts out there, here’s the game for you. Created by Mark MacKay for Method of Action, Shape Type presents you with a mis-shaped character and challenges you to adjust several bezier handles until you’ve smoothed out its curves and corners just right. Its amazing use of the canvas element in HTML5 allows it to replicate Adobe Illustrator’s vector editing environment in a web format, enabling easy manipulation. When you think you’ve adjusted the letterform to perfection,
your letter is compared to the original and you’re given a score based on their similarities. Not only is it a test of you typographic prowess, but Shape Type also gives you a brief type history lesson by listing the typeface name, the type designer and the year

I’ve continually come across this very relevant blog and decided that it too was my turn to share. Many of these topics will likely resonate with with a seasoned creative’s routine and #the50 does a good job of briefly examining some of these truths. If you’re a young hopeful fresh out of the gate, this post will probably be more than insightful. Throughout the year Fluke employees need a place to store and tote loose documents. Instead of providing typical blank folders, Fluke decided take an extra step and have folders custom made for all internal personnel. For this project there were two requirements. One, it needed to hold loose documents. Two, it needed have a cool graphic treatment that spoke to the Fluke brand. What we came up with is the classic school Pee-Chee complete with custom illustrations giving it an engineering spin. Who doesn’t appreciate a little nostalgia?

What happens when a Creative agency named Superbig and athlete management company named Superheroes share a legendary residence in Pioneer square formerly known as the Phoenix Underground? Well, we resurrect the bar of course. And we’re not sure why, but the name Superbar just seemed suitable. It’s always nice to step away from the screen and put those traditional hand skills to use. After the chalking comes the stocking, so stay tuned.

Superbig Creative just helped the 18 year-old snowboard phenom Sebastien Toutant create his first personal website and identity. Working in conjunction with Seb’s management agency, Superheroes Management, as well as his top sponsors, we created a world-class showcase for Seb to share his experiences with fans. Superbig New Years 2011

Happy New Years folks. The first party at the new studio went great. We got a bunch of people together to help break in the new space with us. The whole group got in the spirit, taking advantage of a fully stocked bar in a prime downtown location. All in all it was a great night with good friends, laughs, and even a head injury. Luckily the SB medical staff was on the scene with plenty of ice and compassion:) We are already exited to throw the next Superbig party, so stay tuned. Hope your holiday was as good as ours.
